Another hot and sunny day. We watched as a crew with a JCB set about cleaning some of the seaweed from the floor of the sea pools which they had previously drained. When they had loaded the seaweed into a truck i expected them to drive off but instead they reversed and dumped it nearby on the sand (surely this will just drift in again!).
After breakfast we set of to walk in to town. The first part was steeply uphill and in the heat we flagged a little.
The town is lovely with lots of little creperies and a few souvenir shops among the regular shops and supermarkets.
There is a little church with a wonky steeple and an imposing cathedral here as well. A market is held one day a week (Tuesday).
After a little wander around we headed back and went for a meal at Le Chalet restaurant.
The food was very nice and reasonably priced. Who should be at the next table but the couple who had been having the domestic!!! They must have made up but didn’t have much to say to each other over their meal. As we were finishing our meal the tide came in and it was exciting to watch the sea pools swiftly fill up. Later we spent time in the pool and had another evening playing cards.
